All E-bikes let out on hire, including all accessories & attachments supplied herewith (“the E-bike”) remains the property Lochaber E-Bikes (“the owner”) and the Renter will not sell, hire out, lend or otherwise part possession thereof.

The Renter acknowledges and agrees that the E-bike and equipment is in good condition at point of rental.  The Renter therefore undertakes full responsibility for the condition of the E-Bike and equipment and agrees to return E-bike and accessories in the same condition as when received (ordinary usage and wear and tear excepted) to the agreed collection point and on due date and time specified on the rental agreement form as signed by the Renter.  

The Owner shall be entitled to charge the Renter for any damage caused to the Bicycle and/or equipment during the period of the hire. This charge will be taken from the debit/credit card details registered online during booking process.  In the event of breakdown, other than those of a type which the Renter can reasonably repair i.e. a puncture or un-seated chain, the Owner will use its best endeavours to repair or replace depending on location.  By signing this agreement the renter consents to Lochaber E-bikes charging any loses or damages to the hirer’s credit or debit card.

The Owner shall not be liable for any damage caused or loss made by breakdown where the circumstances of breakdown are beyond the Owners control.  The Renter agrees to indemnify the Owner in respect of all costs and expenses which are a direct result of negligence resulting in a breakdown.  Any damages or repairs should be reported to the Owner upon the return of the bicycle.

The period of the hire commences at the time of collection and is deemed to continue until the E-bike is received back by the Owner as agreed during booking process.

Electric bikes must not be submerged in water. Cycling in the rain is fine but deep puddles should be avoided.

Equipment booked and paid for in advance will be available for delivery and collection at the pre-arranged times and location as agreed at the time of booking.  If for any unforeseen reason delivery is not possible a full refund will be given.  A minimum of 48 hours’ notice must be given for cancellation of an advanced booking.

Please cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat. Cyclists are expected to follow the highway code – in particularly the ‘Extra Rules for Cyclists’ (Rules187-211).  Anyone cycling in a discourteous or unsafe manner while in possession of Lochaber E-bike will have the equipment re-possessed with no refund of hire charges.

The Renter will not use the E-bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

The Renter is responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit enough to undertake cycling any distance. Lochaber E-bikes does not accept any responsibility for your failure to complete your hire period due to lack of fitness, illness or injury.  Lochaber E- Bikes does not accept liability for death, personal injury, loss or damage to personal effects to any participant, nor can Lochaber E-Bikes accept any responsibility for delays or changes to your period of hire due to weather, strikes, war, terrorism or other unforeseen causes.  

You will ride your E-Bike responsibly at all times.  You will not hold Lochaber E-bikes responsible for any loss, damage or injury including death to persons or property with regard to use of the cycle(s) and equipment hired.  You accept responsibility to indemnify Lochaber E- Bikes against any claim, interest, demand or expense in respect of any such injury or damage.  You accept that cycling on a public road,  route, trail or track carries its own risks and you have made your booking on the basis that you undertake the hire at your own risk.  

You understand and accept that Lochaber E-Bikes strongly advises the wearing of cycle helmets at all times during the hire and provides a helmet, free of charge, with each cycle hired. 

All young persons (age 17 or younger) MUST wear a cycle helmet and they will not be issued a bicycle without one.  Young persons (age 17 or younger) will only be issued with equipment when accompanied by a parent or guardian.  All electric cycle users must be a minimum of 15 years old.

Bicycle locks are provided and E-Bikes must be locked to a permanent fixture whenever left unattended.  The method of securing should include the wheel and frame.  In the event of the Bicycle being lost or stolen the Owner reserves the right to call upon the Renter to indemnify the Owner the replacement value of the Bicycle.  However, should the Bicycle subsequently be recovered in a useable condition, the Owner undertakes to refund the Renter’s Indemnity in full within fourteen days.   

All equipment must be returned to the agreed collection point at the correct time as indicated on the booking form.  No refunds or reductions will be given for any equipment that is returned early. 

E-Bikes and equipment will only be hired to the renter who made the booking and has agreed to these terms and conditions.   If for any reason we believe a customer cannot competently ride an E-Bike,  we reserve the right not to refuse hire.

If the Renter shall commit any breach of the terms of this agreement the Owner shall be entitled, without prejudice, to any other rights or remedies which it may have to terminate the hire, and recover possession thereof without notice, and to make reasonable charge for such repossession.  

Lochaber E-Bikes reserves the rights not to hire equipment to an individual.


The late return of an E-bike will incur an additional charge payable by the renter upon the return for each late bike.  A late fee of £5 will be charged for each E-bike and for every 15 minutes past the agreed collection time,  as agreed on booking confirmation. i.e. 30 mins late will be charged £10 per bike.

Each E-Bike more than 1 hour late will be charged an extra days hire.
